Karatbars has recently signed a contract with the managers of the Bouganville mine.
Like me, you may have never heard of Bouganville.
Bouganville is a part of Papua New Guinea. But it gained an autonomous status 20 years ago, after the war of Independence.
Bouganville is home to one of the world’s largest precious metals mines (gold and copper).
Bouganville mine stopped operating with the start of the war of Independence.
Now, thanks to Karatbars the mine will be brought back to life.
The good thing is, mining will be done responsibly. Meaning? The gold will be mined in accordance to technical, environmental and other local regulations.
So, this way Karatbars will not only have “green” gold behind KaratBank coin and CashGold, but they will also contribute to the rise of the economy in this region. Hence, helping local people increase their standard of living, which has been quite low for decades.
